Legalization of Documents

Documentation Requirements

Certificates of Origin:

Must be printed on original form and include the following:

  • The name(s) of the manufacturers of the items being shipped

  • List of contents

  • The port of discharge or final destination as " Bahrain " even if the consignee is "Bahrain"

  • A notarized statement by a local notary public certifying that the goods are of pure natural origin and are products of the United States of America

Commercial Invoices:

Must be on the letterhead of the actual seller, and must give an accurate and specific description of the goods; all expenses must be itemized.

  • All invoices must be signed and include the name of the vessel and date of sailing

  • Invoices must be certified as to current export market prices and must include the following statement:

"I,(name, title, company name), hereby swear that the prices stated in this invoice are the current export market prices and that the origin of the goods described herein is the United States of America, and I assume full responsibility for any inaccuracies or errors therein."

  • All invoices must state the total value in US Dollars only.

  • Meat and poultry invoices should include a Halal Meat Certificate from an authorized office

  • Invoices including saplings, seed, fruits and vegetables, and invoices for all medicines and drugs must be accompanied by one of the following:

Health certificate issued by the Food and Drug Administration proving the plant materials are free from pests and other agricultural disease. A health certificate is also required for all medicines and drugs, stating that the medicine or drug is legal and valid for use in the US Phyotsanitary certificate issued by the Department of Agriculture for shipments of flour, rice, seed wheat, agriculture seeds and plants .

 

Sanitary Invoices:

Export Certificate

  • Certificates issued by the manufacturer are not acceptable

  • Invoices including alcohol and wine are not acceptable

  • All certificates, certificates of origin, and commercial invoices must be legalized by the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC); certificates issued by Canada must be legalized by the local Canadian Chamber of Commerce

  • Documents issued in Canada must be authenticated by the Canadian State Department

  • Certificates of Origin and Commercial Invoices issued in Canada must be legalized by the local Chamber of Commerce .

  • Enclose one photocopy with the original(s) for the Embassy's use

  • Send all documents and a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Embassy through the US Postal Service (Express or Priority Mail). If you choose to use another service for the return of your documents, such as FedEx or DHL,

  • please make sure that your name and address appears in Both the Sender and Recipient fields of the prepaid airwaybill .
